Downs, Film 6872 Madison County Georgia Wills 1812 - 1896 Washington Memorial Library, Macon, Ga. page 189 Georgia Madison County In the name of God Amen I Andrew H Downs of the above State & County being of Sound Mind and Memory and about going into the Confederate Service and being possessed of Some of its worlds goods I wish to dispose of my property in the following Manner (viz) First I give My Soul to God and my body to the Earth 2nd And After my pass (?) debts & funeral Expenses are paid I give & bequeath unto My two Sisters which is living with me Sarah Ann Downs & Jane Downs all the rest of My property to be Equally divided between my Said two sisters Sarah Ann and Jane Downs. And I put all I leave in (?) for their own use & benefit as above divided and in Case I do Return from (?) war and wish to alter or revoke the above willcan do so at pleasure.
