Booth - abooth@ktc.com 28 Dec 2000 ***************************************************************** LDS Library, Film # 0351750 Will Records 1811-1922..Page 118 Madison County, Georgia Georgia; Madison County: I David Power being in a low State of Health yet of sound mind and memory and believing that it is appointed unto all men once to die do make ordain constitute and appoint this my last will and testament that is to say in the first place I recommend my Soul into the hand of God who gave it and my body to be buried in a decent Christian Burial and as tuching what worldly estate it hath pleased God to bless me with I dispose of in the manner following (to wit) It is my desire that my well beloved Wife Margaret Power have the Land whereon I now live and the Negros so long as she may live single but provided she shall marry then to have an Equal division with the Children, the other property what she may not need for the support of the Children it is my wish for my Executor to sell and also what other land I possess when they may think best. I also want my son Jesse R. Power to have Sixty dollars at my death and I also want my two Daughters Sarah Power and Polly Murry to have Sixty dollars each. I also bequeath unto Oliver T. Hopkins a horse Saddle and bridle and a bed and furniture to be worth ninety dollars and one years schooling provided he shall live with his Mother to the age of twenty one, and all my children as they shall become of lawful age to have a horse saddle and bridle and bed and furniture worth one hundred and twenty dollars except Francis E. Power he has had a saddle and at my wife’s death or marriage then it is my desire that my property shall be equally divided among all my children except my daughter Sarah Power who is to have as before directed but it is my desire that a share equal to the other children shall be placed in the hand of some person whom my executors name she may think best and she is to have the proceeds of the same until her death and then to be equally divided amongst her lawful heirs, and my two grand children Susan M. Power and George W. Power who is to have one share, and I also constitute and appoint Margaret Power and Jesse R. Power my Lawful Executors to this my Last Will and Testament.
