I Elizabeth Smith of said state and county being of advanced age and knowing that I must shortly depart this life and deeming it right and proper that I make Some disposition of the property with which a kind providence has blessed me do therefore make constitute and ordain this to be may last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. Item 1st..I desire and direct that my body be buried in a decent and Christian like manner. Item 2nd.. I direct that my funeral expenses together with all my just debts be paid without unnecessary delay. Item 3rd.. I give and bequeath unto my great grand daughter Sarah Harriett Thompson daughter of Julia Ann Thompson deceased former wife of James Thompson Jr, One hundred dollars. Item 4th.. I give and bequeath to my grand daughter Mary E Boothe daughter of Mary P Boothe and Robert Boothe one negro boy named Jordan about seven or eight years old. Item 5th.. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Lucy Stephens, widow of Elisha Stephens late of Coweta County deceased, Six hundred dollars to be paid to her or her representatives as soon after my death as it can conveniently be done. Item 6th.. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Nancy Floyd wife of Turner Floyd two hundred dollars. Item 7th.. I give and bequeath unto the children of my deceased daughter Elizabeth Bradberry formerly wife of William H Bradberry deceased (viz) Jane Pool wife of Jonathan Pool, James H Bradberry, Mary E Bradberry, Nancy L Bradberry, Stephen Bradberry, Celia Bradberry and Susan Bradberry, one hundred and forty dollars to be equally divided between them share and share alike and to be paid over to them at my death or as they may marry or become of age. Item 8th.. I give and bequeath unto my son Henry P Smith two Negroes (to wit) Anderson a boy about twenty four years of age and Clary a girl about twenty five years of age and her future increase. I also give unto my said son Henry P Smith two notes of hand I hold upon him, one made payable to Stephen White for four hundred and twelve dollars and fifty cents due twenty fifth December Eighteen hundred and forty two dated ninth day of November Eighteen hundred and forty with various credits thereon--one other note made payable to myself for one hundred thirty six dollars and sixty nine cents due one day after date - dated fourteenth day of December Eighteen hundred and forty three with several credits on the same - I hold demands against my said son for the hire of two negro boys viz Lewis and Anderson in the amount of one hundred forty dollars - these I give to my said son Henry P. Item 9th.. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Judah J Russel wife of William R Russel during her natural lifetime two Negroes viz Lewis a boy about twenty six years of age and Amy a girl about twenty eight years old, and her future increase and at my said daughters death the said negroes and increase to be sold and equally divided between all the children of my said daughter Judah J Share and share alike--I also give to William R Russel one note of hand I hold upon him for seventy nine dollars payable to William Hendrick with John Russel Security - due twenty fifth December Eighteen hundred and forty one dated twenty Sixth February of the same year. Item 10th.. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Celia M Carrington wife of William Carrington four negroes to wit Billy, a boy about twenty five years old, Charlotte a girl about twenty seven years old and Harriett a girl about eighteen years old and her child Fanny together with all their future increase for her sole and separate use during her natural lifetime and at her death to be equally divided between all my said daughters children share and share alike. I also give unto my said daughter Celia M Carrington one choise (sic) horse and my burrace (?) . Item # 11th.. I give and bequeath unto my grand daughter, Myran E Mitchell wife of Thomas Mitchell one negro girl Ann about six years of age and her increase. Item 12th.. My will and desire is that at my death my beds and bedding be equally divided between my three daughters Mary P Boothe, Judah J Russel and Celia M Carrington. Item 13th.. My will and desire is that at my death my two negroes Ben a boy and Clary Jane a girl be sold to raise money to be applied to the purposes herein before expressed. Item 14th.. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Judah J Russel during her lifetime and at her death to go to her children, one tract of land on the waters of Holly Creek containing fifty four acres more or less being the tract I bought of Goss and Turner. Item 15th.. My will and desire is that at my death all my property both real and personal not herein otherwise disposed of be sold and the proceeds arising there from to be applied to the purposes herein before expressed and the remainder if any to be equally divided between my son Henry P Smith and my daughters Mary P Boothe, Judah J Russel and Celia M Carrington upon the same conditions and limitations herein before expressed. Item 16th.. I hereby nominate and appoint my trusty friend Willis Strickland my Executor to carry this my last will and Testament into effect.
