Black - mmblack@valdosta.edu 27 August 2001 ***************************************************************** Will of Nathaniel Hix Madison County, Georgia Will Book B, pages 261-262 Madison County | The last Will and Testa Ga. | ment of Nathaniel Hix of the County and State aforesaid In the name of God Amen 1st I assign my soul to God who gave it and my body to the dust from whence it came which I wish to be buried in a plain but decent manner. 2nd I desire all my just debts paid of the proceeds of my Estate 3rd I wish my wife Joanna Hix to have + hold all Such property of my Estate as she shall make choice of for the use of herself and Such of my children as remain with her during her life or widowhood In case She should marry then all the property remaining at that time to be equally divided among them my wife receiving an equal portion with each of my children In case she never marries at her death I wish all equally divided among my children if any of them should die leaving a child or children that child or children to inherit the portion of its or their deceased father or mother. 4th Of my estate I wish my four youngest Children to have each a horse saddle and bridle worth Sixty one dollars and my daughter Mary to have a saddle worth ten dollars and each of my children who have not yet had of me a cow and calf bed bedstead + clothing for one Bed to have each of them a cow and calf Bed Bedstead + furniture to make them equal with Such as have already has Such things of me 5th If William Williams remains with my wife till he is twenty years of age or till she shall marry or die I wish him to have a horse bridle and saddle worth Sixty one dollars and ten dollars in money 6th I hereby nominate and appoint my wife Joanna Hix Executrix and my youngest son Absalum Cristler Hix Executor of this my last Will and Testament.
