David of the County of Madison & State of Georgia being of Sound Mind Knowing the uncertainty of life do make this my last will & Testament And first in hope of a happy ____ I commit my soul to the mercies of God who gave it & my body to the earth from which it came. To my dear brother John M. David whom I appoint my Executor to my Will I will & bequeath two thirds of my land. To my dear niece Elizabeth Meaders I will & bequeath two thirds of the remainder of my Estate. And to my dear Georgia Ann David I will & bequeath all not thus disposed of. I hereby declare the above to be my last will and Testament in testimony whereof I have subscribed my name on this the 22nd day of Sept in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred & Sixty Four.
