Madison County Probate Record 119 &120 July Term 1822 Includes surnames: STREETMAN, DICKSON/DIXON, COX, PITTMAN TOWNS, DANIEL, ADAIR, HARRIS, SANDERS, EBERHART Georgia Madison County In the Inferior Court for said County-July Term 1822 Upon the petition of Martin STREETMAN stating that he the said Martin STREETMAN may possess of a certain bond made by James DIXON for title to a certain tract or parcel of land in Madison County a copy whereof as near as can be ascertained is hereto annexed and an affidavit pursuant to said law in such case made and provided is now filed in the clerks office of this court that the said bond has been lost by the said Martin STREETMAN and __________ (praying?) the benefits of said law. It is ordered that the said copy be established in lieu of the original so lost as aforesaid on the said Martin STREETMAN published a copy of this rule in one of the public gazettes of the state once a month for six months unless cause can be shown to the contrary within six months or other matter shall appear to the cause against the same. Copy of the Bond. Know all men by these present that I James DICKSON of the state of Georgea and County of Madison do bind myself my being and assign with Martin STREETMAN of the County and State aforesaid by being and assign in the sum of five hundred dollars. ********************************************************************* What appears to be a copy of the bond reads: To ____(heirs?) in hand well and treaty paid by the said Marten STREETMAN on or before the sealing and delivery of these present in beliefs whereof the said James DICKSON herewith set his hand and seal this thirteenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirteen. The condition of the above obligation is such that of the above bound James DICKSON by being or assign shall on or before the first day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifteen make or cause be made unto the said Martin STREETMAN his being or assign a good and lawful warrantee title to a certain tract of land containing one hundred and thirty four acres being and lying in the County of Madison State aforesaid on the south fork of Broad River joining ___________ (Wolney?/Colney?) and others as being the land whereon the said James Dickson now lives them the above obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full force and virtue. It is ordered by the Court that the copy files at the above term be established in lieu of the Original. I assign the above bond to Allen MATTHEWS. This 6th May 1823. M.
