Cobb Reprinted with permission of Rena Cobb Family Histories Pages 215-216 Bedford Franklin Brady Son of Alexander Samuel Brady and Sarah Matilda Hendricks, b. 10/05/1892, d. 02/13/1960, m. Mary Ola McCorkle, b. 09/03/1896, D. 10/08/1947, both are buried in New Providence Cemetery, Children: (transcriber’s note: the names are not listed to protect individuals who may still be alive) Frank Brady lived on the land his father acquired and farmed. He continued the tradition of enjoying the bounty of hard work from the land he loved and his family’s table of delicious fresh garden vegetables, cured ham, sausage, biscuits and homemade cane syrup were enjoyed by all the family brothers, sisters cousins from both the community and far away. Sundays usually brought the kinfolks to feast and spend the day “in the country.” Mary Ola was a hard-working, industrious farm housewife who gathered vegetables, milked the cows, churned the butter and always enjoyed cooking for her family. She was stricken with cancer and her life ended at the young age of 51. Frank served on the Board of Marion County Commissioners for several years. He was appointed administrator of his father’s estate in 1915 and conducted a public sale of approximately 3,000 acres at which the heirs of the estate were the main purchasers. He also served as guardian for his brother, Walter Brady’s children, George and Gladys. In fact the children lived with his family until they were on their own. After his wife Mary Ola died, Frank moved from the farm home place to Buena Vista to live with his daughter. About two years later he m. Nettylee Moore. Although he did not live on his farm after 1947, he kept the farm until his death in 1960.
