Cobb Reprinted with permission of Rena Cobb Family Histories Page 503 Source: History of Marion County History (1827-1930) by Miss Nettie Powell Anna Parmely Stevens Wooten Anna Parmely Stevens was married to William Wooten of Dawson January 31, 1871 in Putnam. To this union seven children were born: Richard Clarke Wooten Willie Adel married Norman Miller Mary Elizabeth married B.S. Miller Anna Howard married Phil Lanier William Council married Mattie Parker (Mathews) Leonard Sarah Elmira married A.C. Duncan Carrie Christine married W.C. Cooper Her husband, William was a successful private banker until his death January 16, 1888 in Dawson. In 1889, she moved with her children to Buena Vista. She provided the best possible education for her children in every way to include music and art along with school. Mrs. Wooten’s parents, Hampton Stevens (1805-1878) and Attalissa Sparks (1810- 1873) were born and reared in South Carolina. They came to Harris County and then Marion County in 1848. Her brothers and sisters were: Angelia Isabel, Jasper Hampton, Elmina Elizabeth, Martha Ann, Putnam Sparks, Mary Attalissa, Munroe Smith, Morgan Norman, Elvira Amanda, Newton Clarke, Milton and Hampton.
