This Indenture made this the eighth day of December in the year of our Lord Eighteen hudnred and fifty one between Joseph D. Reynolds of the one part and Mary Short of the other part, both of the County and State aforesaid. Witnesseth that the said Joseph D. Reynolds for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the reeipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold and conveyed and does by these presents grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Mary Short her heirs and assigns fifty acres of land more or less in the south west corner of lot situate lying and being in the (5th) Fifth District of Originally Muscogee now Marion County, known and dinstinguished in the plan of said district by (No 212) number two hundred twelve said fifty acres to embrace the houses and improvements whereon the said Mary Short now lives with all the rights members and appurtancences thereunot belonging to have and to hold the above described fifty acres of land unto her the said Mary Short, her heirs and assigns together with all the rights members and appurtanences to the said tract or parcel of land in anywise belonging to her and their own proper use and benefit and behoof forever in fee simple and the said Joseph D. Reynolds for himself his heirs executors and administrators the said bargained premises together with the right title and possession thereof unto the said Mary Short her heirs and assigns and will warrant and forever defend the right and title ther--- against themselves and against the claims of all other persons whatever. Mary Short was Mary McDaniel Short, widow of John C. Short. Not long after 1852 she goes to Covington Co AL with some of her children.
