All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: ANGELA COVINGTON AANGEL4KEN@ALLTEL.NET June 21, 2005, 9:47 pm 25th District Lot 12 Written: May 20, 1848 Recorded: March 19, 1860 Georgia Stewart County This Indenture made this twentieth day of May one thousand and Eight hundred and forty eight, between D C Sears of the County of Marion and State aforesaid of the one part and Calvin Folks and Joseph Langford deacons of the Baptist Church of Shilo in Marion of the part that the said D C Sears for and in consideration of the sum of twenty dollars to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained, sold, and conveyed and by these presents do grant bargain, sell, and convey & confirm unto the said Calvin Folks and Joseph Langford deacons as aforesaid a certain tract or lot of land situated , lying, and being in the twenty fifth deistrict of originally Lee, but now Marion County known and distinguished in the plan of said district as part of Lot No 12 twelve, bounded as follows to wit: beginning at the Southwest corner of said lot and running east along the original line fifty five rod and thence north seventeen rod and thence west fifty five rod to the original line and thence south along said line seventeen rods to the place of beginning the same containing five and three quarter acre more of less. To have and to hold the said tract or parcels of land unto the said Calvin Folks and Joseph Lanford, deacons and their sucessors in office together with all and singular. The app???? thereunto belonging to their own proper use and benefit of Shilo Church forever in simple and the said D C Sears for himself his heirs and Executors and administrators the said bargained premises unto the said Calvin Folks and Joseph Langford deacons as aforesaid and their successors in office will warrant and forever defend the right and title thereof against himself and against the claims of all other persons. In testimony whereof the said D C Sears hath hereto set his hand and seal the day and year above written, signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of Sampson Bell amd William B Shirling. David C Sears (LS) Georgia Webster County Personally appeared and before me Sampson Bell who being duly sworn saith on oath that he saw David C Sears sign,seal and deliver the written deed for the puposes herein mentioned and he subscribed thr same as a ??? and saw William B Shirling do so likewise.
