The condition of the above undenture bill f sale or conveyance is such that where as the said Wells Smith hath this day made his certain instrument in writing commonally called a promissary note a true copy of which is her unto afixed. Now should the said Wells Smith well and tuly pay off and discharge the said note whenever it should become due according to ? and effect and sall at all times save harmless and und? the said Wm A Black and his heirs and assigns from all liability and subsequent ? by reason of the nonpayment of said Note then this instrument to be woid and now effect its to remain in fill force and virtue. Copy of note By the twenty fifth of December an d? we or either of us promise to pay Madack I Crawford or bearer the sum of five hundred and forty six dollars for value received with interest from the date this the 2nd day of March 1847 Signed Wells Smith Wm A Black There being but one note for five hundred and forty six dollars the above being a true copy of the same.
