Ansley, in the northwest part of town, was destroyed by fire Tuesday afternoon. Almost everything in the house was carried out but greatly damaged, but the scarcity of water prevented any work that would save the home, and many willing hands turned their attention to saving the buildings on either side. The wind was quite strong from the west which caused the sparks and heat to go in a direction where there were no near buildings to take fire. Mr. Ansley and family moved into the house with Mr. Joe Medlin for the present. The property was insured for $1600.
