Davis had a dog to die the other day which he considered a very valuable canine. In the season Mrs. Davis did a great deal of fishing, and the dog in question would always accompany her. She would set out a number of hooks along the creek, and while she watched a portion of the hooks the dog watched the other. Whenever a cork bobbed up the dog would bark and attract Mrs. Davis who came and pulled the fish. While this was being attended to the dog would reverse positions and take up his watch at the point where his mistress had just left, and in that way he proved a very convenient companion to have along fishing.
