Terry, Col., Shoots Two Negro Boys George Terry, colored living five miles east of Tazewell, and well know to many of our citizens shot two of his boys last Friday. The boys are tenants on his farm, and when he called on them for rent it is said both cursed him, refused to pay rent and attacked him with pistols, shooting at him several times. Terry went home, secured a gun and returned. The boys hid behind trees and tried to get a chance to shoot him, but when one reached out his arm to take aim, he fired the contents of one load into the hand and arm, and as the other peeped around the tree to take in the situation he fired the other load into his face, putting out one eye. From what we learn Terry acted in self defense and no arrests have been made.
