The attendance was large and everything went merry as a marriage bell. Mr. Henry Stokes, and Misses Jessie Forrester, May Thornton and Lucy Lumpkin furnished the music. That part of the evening devoted to candy pulling was an apt illustration of “sweetness long drawn out,” and some of the boys and girls too, were terribly “stuck up” the remainder of the evening.
