Will Compete For Prize

Mr. Benaja Peacock says he is going to compete for the prize offered by the 
state fair at Macon for the largest amount of corn raised on one acre of land.  
He has measured off an acre in a rich bottom, and besides other fertilizers he 
will put eight hundred pounds of guano on it.  With good seasons we are of the 
opinion that Mr. Peacock will make his competitors a close race for the prize.
