An Octogenarian

Mr. Matthew Melton, a prominent farmer who lives about six miles northeast of 
Buena Vista, was in the city yesterday on a business trip.  He is hale and 
hearty, though he has passed through the heats of eighty-one summers.  He says 
that he has never rode a mile on a railroad in his life and he attributes 
longevity and good health to be in some measure due to that fact. – Columbus 
Enquirer
