Lawn Fete

The lovely and picturesque lawn of Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Lowe was resplendent on 
Monday evening where they entertained in their usual charming manner the young 
people of the town in honor of their friend, Miss Cobb, of North Carolina.  
Everything combined in nature and art to make it a grand success.  The night 
was ideal.  The bright, mellow moonbeams flooding the large green lawn in which 
was spread rugs, settees and bright colored sofa pillows, blending with the 
white robed throng made a picture, not soon to be effaced.

While the eye was charmed, the ear was also delighted by strains of sweet music 
from the string band nearby.

Punch was served throughout the evening in a delightful manner by Miss Susie 
McMichael.

Mrs. Lowe was assisted by her sisters, Misses Susie and Lula McMichael.
