The family including several small children were asleep and unconscious of their danger until the roof was about to fall in, and they were roused by a cat that was confined in the room. Very little was saved from the fire and it was fortunate that none of the family was burned. The friends of Mr. and Mrs. Rigsby come to their aid with contributions of various kinds. The house and furniture were insured in the Globe Insurance Company, represented by Capt. W.C. Singleton, for $425. The house for $200 and furnishings for $225 which will probably cover the loss. The insurance was paid very promptly. The fire occurred Friday night and the loss was paid Monday. A promptness that was very commendable to the insurance people, and to their agent, Capt. Singleton.
