The house was beautifully decorated with jack-o-lanterns and holly tree. Several pumpkin shell figures were to be seen, while a ghost was in every corner. The guests had their fortunes told by the witch, and tried their fortunes by biting at apples in a tub of water; (didn’t anybody bite the apples). Nuts and candy were passed around, after which a cake containing a thimble, dime and ring was cut. Mr. Burt Chandler cut the thimble, Miss Eva Chalkley the dime and Mr. Ben Johnson the ring. Those present were Misses Eugenia, Isabella and Marion Chandler, Susie Moore, Edna, Effie and Rena Weaver, Helen and Eva Harris, Elma Belk, Lillian Ramsy, Henry Hinton, Louie Tiend, Eva Chalkley, Mrs. Pearl Rosey, Messrs. Hart Zog, J.A. Rosey, Burt Chandler, Ode Harris, Ben Johnson, Wes Ramsy and John Moore.
