Wall is very sick with fever at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. L. Duke. Mr. J. W. McCrary passed through this place en route to Butler last Sunday afternoon. Mr. Perry Watson, of Taylor county, was in our ville last Monday. Cotton and corn will soon be gathered and the farmer will be happy when he looks back over the hot summer days. Mrs. B. W. A. Jackson and Mrs. L. A. Bridges of this place, visited at the home of Mrs. L. D. Harris last Monday. Mr. M. S. Halley, of this place, we are pained to learn, is quite sick but, not seriously. Mr. L. D. Harris is wearing a broad smile now on account of the arrival of a fine girl at his home. Mr. William Livington, of Talbot county, was in our ville last Monday. A protracted meeting is in progress at the Methodist church at this place, conducted by Rev. L. N. Peebles and Rev. H. C. Brewton, of Buena Vista.
