WHITE CAPPERS IN MARION COUNTY
The grand jury of Marion county last week returned bills of indictment against 
Tom Boland, Gus Elliott, Chas. Turner, Smith Turner and J.D. Kidd for the 
murder of Green Wells, a citizen of that county.  The awful tradgedy occurred 
several weeks ago, and was shrouded in the deepest mystery.  It was only after 
the most diligent and untiring efforts that a clew (clue) to the assassins was 
found.  They are now in jail in Buena Vista.  They styled themselves 
the "United Brotherhood."  J.D. Kidd, a Free Will Baptist preacher organized 
the band.  He is well known in this county having lived near Ellaville for a 
number of years.  Mr. Wells was a peaceful law abiding citizen, and the people 
of Marion county are determined that his murderers shall be brought to justice.
