Charles Robert Alford, 63, of Box Springs, GA, died Thursday, December 26, 2013, 
at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, December 30, 2013 graveside 
in Buena Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on 
Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 2-4PM.

Mr. Alford was born December 28, 1949, in San Antonio, TX to Donovan and 
Virginia McCommon Alford. After graduating from high school, he entered into the 
Air Force where he served in the Philippines, Guam, and Vietnam. He retired 
after 20 years of service. He enjoyed reading books. In addition to his parents, 
he was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Mitchell, and a son, Gene Mayfield.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Alford, of Box Springs, GA, a son, William 
Ogden of Savannah, GA; four daughters, Samantha Ogden of Box Springs, GA, 
Virginia Hearn of Phenix City, AL, Martha Alford of Phenix City, AL, and Sindy 
Deeds of Augusta, GA; a sister, Martha Roelkey of Talbotton, GA, and 11 
Grandchildren.

Watson-Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia, is in charge of these 
arrangements.
