Jesse Ashe, Sr.
September 27, 1934 - August 24, 2012

Jesse James Ashe, Sr., 77, of Buena Vista, GA, died Friday, August 24, 2012, 
at his residence. 

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2012, at 3:00 PM at 
Mt. Zion AME Church with Pastor Ruby Youngblood officiating. Burial will 
follow in the City of Buena Vista Cemetery. 

Mr. Ashe was born September 27, 1934, in Upatoi, GA, to Eugene and Willie 
Beautrice Williams Ashe. He was a graduate of Buena Vista High School and he 
retired from the United States Army after having served 20 years and 6 months. 
He was a member of Mt. Zion AME Church and the American Legion Post 309. In 
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Ruth 
Williams Ashe. 

He is survived by two sons, Jesse Ashe, Jr. and Alice Hartage and Bryant Ashe, 
all of Buena Vista, GA; by three daughters, Janice Ashe and Gloria Dean Ashe, 
both of Round Rock, TX, and Danna Ashe of Buena Vista; two brothers, Nathaniel 
Ashe and wife Nancy and Norman Ashe and wife Jerry, all of Austin, TX; and by 
four grandchildren, Lextoria Ashe, Ariana Armstrong, Bryant Ashe, Jr. and Tera 
Mone’ Ashe. 

Watson-Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia, is in charge of these 
arrangements.
