Buena Vista, GA - William Farley “Bill” Austin, 86, of Buena Vista, formerly 
of Cusseta, GA, died Thursday, June 4, 2009, at Magnolia Manor of Marion 
County.

Graveside funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2009, 
at Harmony Cemetery in Cusseta, GA, with Reverend Dan Smith officiating.  The 
family received friends at Tante Funeral Home on Saturday afternoon from 12:30 
to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service. Serving as active pallbearers were Ronnie 
Sizemore, Ricky Carlan, James Wayne Austin, Benny Austin, Amos Austin, Billy 
Jo Cabe, Tony Moore, and Michael Austin.

Mr. Austin was born February 14, 1923, in Chattahoochee County to George L. 
and Eugenia Davidson Austin. He served in the Army during World War II and had 
worked in Fort Benning as a civil service employee. He was also self-employed 
at a service station in Cusseta, GA. Methodist by faith, he was a member of 
Cusseta Methodist Church. He was also a Mason. In addition to his parents, he 
was preceded in death by three brothers, G.W. Austin, Howard Austin, and C. B. 
Austin, Sr. and by three sisters, Georgia Cabe, Mary Williams, and Carrie 
Carlan.

He is survived by a sister, Ann Moore, of Waynesville, NC, by several nieces 
and nephews and by a special friend, Estelle Ezell, of Cusseta.

Tante Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
