Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, January 19, 2024, at New Life Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends at the church on Friday one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00AM. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Wright, Adam Stroad, T. J. Stroad, Jeremiah Lumpkin, Chris Waller, and Dan Russell. Ms. Bailey was born in Friedberg, Germany, on September 18, 1954, to Henry James and Annie Maude Fortson Adams. She loved reading romance novels and walking. In her youth, she enjoyed crocheting, especially baby blankets to give as gifts to new mothers. Ms. Bailey liked to shop. She was loved by everyone and frequently shared her homemade lasagna with her friends around town. A giving person, she donated her time and money to help out our local nonprofit organization, Heart to Heart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several siblings. She is survived by two daughters, Hope Wright (Michael) of Box Springs, GA, and Donna Carswell of Buena Vista, GA; by a son, James Carswell (Angela) of North Carolina; by a sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Billy Joe Waller of Buena Vista, GA; grandchildren, Adam Stroad, T. J. Stroad, and Sara Stroad; and a great-grandchild, Jensen Barnes. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
