Family Funeral Program
BLUE, NATHANIEL ‘Buck”
Mr. Blue was born August 24, 1904 to Sim and Pearl Goodrow Blue in Marion 
County, GA.  He married Bedell Thomas and moved to Columbus in 1942.  He was a 
Master Mechanic for John A Pope Motor Company until his retirement in 1972.  
He was a member of Twenty-Fourth Street Baptist Church, served on the Usher 
Board.  Active member of the Electric City Lodge #322 Prince Hall, the 
Shining “C” and Electric City Chapter #428 Order of the Eastern Star.  His 
wife preceded him in death.  He died Monday, December 8, 1986 at Doctors 
Hospital in Columbus following a short illness.  Funeral held Saturday, 
December 13, 1986, Twenty-Fourth Street Baptist Church, Columbus, GA; Reverend 
Tom Beasley officiated.  Burial in Union Hill C.M.E. Church Cemetery in 
Ellaville, GA.   Survivors include 2 sisters, Mrs. Ella Mae Shelling of 
Columbus and Mrs. Pearline Perry of Ellaville, GA; 2 brothers, Oscar Blue of 
Detroit, MI and Robert Lee Blue of Tampa, FL; .  Peoples Funeral Service.
