Violet Christine Hawkins Bowen, 85, of Mauk, GA, died Saturday, April 18, 
2009, at Magnolia Manor in Buena Vista.

Mrs. Bowen was born August 23, 1923, to William B. and Sarah Lafeyette Brown 
Hawkins in Muscogee County, Georgia. Baptist by faith, she was a homemaker and 
had lived in Columbus prior to moving to Mauk. In addition to her parents, she 
was preceded in death by her husband, Foster C. “Crock” Bowen, by a son, 
Isaac “Jack” Bowen, and by a daughter, Patricia “Pat” Bowen.

She is survived by two sons, William “Billy” Rhodes and his wife Grace of 
Columbus, GA, and by Danny Bowen of Mauk, GA; 9 grandchildren, 17 great 
grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren.
