James Julian Brooker, 74, of Box Springs, GA, died Tuesday October 12, 2010, 
at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, GA.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, October 16, 2010, at 2 PM at New 
Beginning Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend Dallas Short officiating.

Mr. Brooker was born June 8, 1934, in Plant City, Florida, to John Richard and 
Iola Veneta Barnes Brooker. He was in the Air Force. He was a heavy equipment 
operator and employed by Kearney Development Co. Coming from Seffner, Florida, 
he had been living in Box Springs since 1994. He was a member of New Beginning 
Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death 
by a great grandson, Nathan Davis and by brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Brooker, by two daughters, Patricia 
Johnston & Gregory and Cynthia Stone & James all of Box Springs, GA. Eight 
grandchildren, Danny, Paula, Sarra, Merrill, Amber, Eric, Daniel, and Cera and 
four great grandchildren, Alex, Emily, Landon, and Matthew, also survive.

Tanta Funeral Home of Buena Vista in charge of arrangements.
