Watson-Mathews Funeral Home Oglethrope, Georgia    March 2012
OGLETHORPE, GA - Johnny C. Brown, age 72, of Oglethorpe, Georgia, passed away 
Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Coliseum Medical Center in Macon, Georgia. 

Visitation was from 7 p.m to 9 p.m., Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Watson-Mathews 
Funeral Home. 

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Watson-Mathews 
Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors followed at Palmer Cemetery 
in Marion County, Georgia. 

Mr. Brown was born August 6, 1939 to the late Owen William Brown and Melba 
Lawrence Brown. He was a member of Emanuel Church of God of Prophecy and was 
retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation. He served eight years 
in the Georgia National Guard and volunteered with both the Oglethorpe Fire 
Department and the Macon County Rescue Unit. 

Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Frances Brown of Oglethorpe, Ga; a 
daughter, Fran Brown of Oglethorpe, Ga; a son, Johnny William “Billy” Brown of 
Oglethorpe, Ga; two brothers, Larry (Patricia) Brown of Upatoi, Ga; Gene 
(Brenda) Brown of Buena Vista, Ga; and one sister, Elaine (Hugh) Ligon of 
Harris County, Ga. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and a 
host of other family members. 

Watson-Mathews Funeral Home of Montezuma was in charge of arrangements.
