Funeral Services will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at Tazewell United Methodist Church with Rev. Gail Smith officiating. Burial will follow the service at Tazewell Cemetery. Family and friends may visit with Mrs. Brunaugh at Way-Watson Funeral Home in Buena Vista on Friday, April 2, 2021, from 10:00AM-5:00PM. Due to Covid-19, face coverings are strongly encouraged and please practice social distancing. Mrs. Brunaugh was born in Wood River, IL, to J. W. and Velda Manahan Gregory. She was a Registered Nurse and worked at Magnolia Manor of Marion County and St. Francis Hospital. Mrs. Brunaugh loved nursing, especially caring for her elderly patients. Methodist by faith, she was a member of Tazewell United Methodist Church and loved to participate in all of the church activities. Mrs. Brunaugh enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as watching “Jeopardy” and “Wheel of Fortune.” She could often be found reading a selection from her vast collection of books – sometimes 2-3 books each day. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Glenard “Red” Gregory. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Freeman Brunaugh, Jr. of Ellerslie, GA; a son and daughter-in-law, Freeman “Chip” Brunaugh, III (Angela) of Temple, TX; three daughters and sons-in-law, Christal Kellar (Paul) of Columbus, GA, Sara Catrett (Derek) of Ellerslie, GA, Shanna Gibson (Steven) of Savannah, GA; two brothers, Bernard Gregory (Darlene) and Richard Gregory, all of Gillespie, IL; four sisters, Betty Sauerwein (Jim) of Gillespie, IL, Joan Page (Bill) of Gillespie, IL, Debra Hagen (Randy) of Carrolton, IL, and Kathy Robinson (Joe) of Shipman, IL; nine grandchildren, Katrina Kellar, Miranda Kellar, Dayna Kellar, Ashlee Brunaugh, Freeman “Jake” Brunaugh, IV, Jacelynn Catrett, Lindle Gibson, Grant Gibson, and Axl Gibson; six great-granchildren, Connor Rivera-Kellar, Colton Rivera-Kellar, Cadence Rivera-Kellar, Aria Kellar Willis, Grayson East, and Abby Kellar Burgess as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and honorary grandchildren.
