Funeral services were held Saturday, August 11, at 10 a.m. at Tazewell United Methodist Church in Tazewell, Georgia with Reverend John Homer officiating. Pallbearers were Bernard Mason Bryan, Jr., Timothy Bryan, Adam Bryan, Johnny Johnson, Brian Johnson, Joshua Blankinship, Joseph Daviss, Jonathan Daviss, and Chuck Doswell. Honorary pallbearers will be the Tazewell Methodist Men’s Bible Study. The family received friends at Tante Funeral Home in Buena Vista Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Mr. Bryan was born January 21, 1946 in Lee County, Georgia to Gerald “Budley” and Rena Bartlett Bryan. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Bernard Bryan. He was a life-long resident of Marion County and a member of Tazewell United Methodist Church. He served honorably in the United States Navy for four years and had 15 years of service with Marion County Public Works. He is survived by six sisters: Susan Puckett and husband Donald, Dean Hunter and husband James, Dot Doswell and husband Charles, and Joann Bryan, all of Columbus, Georgia, Eva Johnson of Ellaville, Georgia, and Gail Smith and husband Bobby of Tazewell, Georgia; by two brothers Bobby Bryan and wife Shirley of the Tazewell Community and Gerald Stout Bryan and wife Exa of Fayetteville, Georgia; and by a sister-in-law Patsy Bryan of Ellaville, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Kidney Foundation, 6110 Executive Boulevard, Suite 1010, Rockville, Maryland 20852.
