Died

Uncle John Benson died at Brantley last Saturday of paralysis.  He was one of 
the oldest men in the county, being in his eighty-fourth year.  He had a stroke 
of paralysis about two years ago, and another last week, which resulted in his 
death.  One by one the old men of the county are passing away.  Two men 84 
years old have died in the past two weeks.

Brantley Bits

Uncle John Benson, one of Marion’s oldest and best citizens, died at his home 
on the morning of the first inst.  Let his friends hold in remembrance his 
exemplary life.
