MRS. EMBELLE THURMOND CLEMENTS
Mrs. Embelle Thurmond Clements, 83, of Buena Vista died on Thursday, May 29, 
1997 at her residence.

Graveside services were held Sunday, June 1, 1997 at Buena Vista Cemetery with 
Rev. Jim Myers officiating.  Deacons of the First Baptist Church served as 
honorary pallbearers.

Mrs. Clements was born January 4, 1914 in Wilkes County, the daughter of the 
late James Gordon and Nancy Belle Knox Thurmond.  She had li8ved in Marion 
County for 55 years and was a member of Buena Vista First Baptist Church.  She 
taught school in Marion Co. School System for several years and was the widow 
of Charles M. Clements, Jr.

Survivors include one son, Charles M. Clements, III of Buena Vista; one 
daughter, Kay C. Aiken of Perry, Fla.; one sister, Jenny Carlton of Union 
Point; and two grandaughters, McCall aqnd Carolyne Aiken of Perry, Fla.

Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista was in charge of arrangements.
