Carolyn Sue Covington
Mrs. Carolyn Sue Covington, 79, of Buena Vista, passed away at her residence on 
Sunday, June 5, 2022.  Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 
at Union United Methodist Church Cemetery at 9:00AM with Rev. David Chapman 
officiating.  The family will greet friends at Way-Watson Funeral Home in Buena 
Vista on Monday evening from 6:00 – 7:00 PM.

Mrs. Covington was born on August 2, 1942 in Chattahoochee County, GA to Louie 
P. Greer and Sallie Ruth Weed.  She was a member of Union United Methodist 
Church.  Mrs. Covington enjoyed working in the yard with her flowers, needle 
point and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she 
was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Covington and a brother, John 
Lindy Greer.

Survivors include her children, James Kenneth Covington and his wife, Angela, 
Carol Ann Elliott; a sister, Mary Ann Chalkley; two brothers-in-law, Joseph 
Covington and Ferrell Cook, all of Buena Vista; three grandchildren, Chris 
Covington (Lynsey), Vicki Covington, and Caitlyn Elliott; two great-
grandchildren, Colton and Hunter Covington; and several nieces and nephews.
