Maria Evangelista Cruz, 76, of Buena Vista, formerly of Aragon, New Mexico, 
died Monday, October 11, 2010, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, 
Georgia.

A memorial service and burial of her cremains will be held in New Mexico at a 
later date.

Mrs. Cruz was born March 3, 1934, in Horse Springs, New Mexico, to Donaciano & 
Paulita Romero Sanchez. She enjoyed knitting and gardening. She had recently 
moved to Box Springs from New Mexico to live with her son and daughter-in-law. 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry D. 
Cruz, and by several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by three sons, George Cruz and wife Silvia Ihra of Box 
Springs, GA, Michael Cruz of Jacksonville, FL, and Daniel Cruz of Redlands, 
CA; by one daughter, Annette Ferraris of Calimesa, CA, and by one brother and 
two sisters. 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren also survive.
