Obituary:
Mary Joyce McMickle Curlee, age 70, of 311 Smokehouse Rd., Cordele, died at 
Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, February 23, 2012. A native of 
Buena Vista, Mrs. Curlee was born December 15, 1941, the daughter of the late 
Manson Sylvester and Mamie Jewell Jones McMickle. Mrs. Curlee was retired from 
the U.S. Government where she was employed in the Census Department. She was a 
member of Lakeview Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 27, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the 
chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel with Rev. Don Howell officiating. Burial 
will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, 
February 26, from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel and at 
other times the family residence, 311 Smokehouse Rd. Pall bearers include 
Brent Barefoot, Brett Hewett, James Morgan , Sam Curlee, Trey Strickland, 
Brent Nitschke and Peggy Jackson. The family suggests memorial contributions 
be made to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 687 GA Highway 30, Buena Vista, GA. 
31803.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Curlee of Cordele; a daughter and step 
daughter, Lisa Joyce Curlee Jackson of Cordele and Kellie Jo Metcalf of 
Watkinsville; two sons, Robert Brandon Curlee of Macon and Stephen Manson 
Curlee of Prattville, Al.; two sisters and brother-in-law, Sarah Janice and 
Gary Jacquin of Cobb and Betty Maxine Ingram of Waxhaw, NC; nine 
grandchildren, Robert Samuel Curlee, Jordan Elizabeth Jackson, Joseph Orlie 
Jackson, Jaycob Manson Curlee, Josie Elizabeth Curlee, Katherine Samantha 
Curlee, Elijah Seth Curlee, Taylor Metcalf and Kevin Metcalf. She was preceded 
in death by a sister, Dolly Ingram and two brothers, Curtis Lamar McMickle and 
Manson S. “Bud” McMickle.
