Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 25, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at New Life Freewill Baptist Church in Mauk, GA with Rev. Brian Fuller and Rev. Charles Fuller officiating. Internment followed in the Pine Level Cemetery in Taylor County. Mrs. Currington was born Septmeber 20, 1918, in Marion County, the daughter of the late Ike and Tinne Stringfellow Teat. She had lived in Taylor County all of her life until moveing to Americus three years ago. She was a Baptist by faith and had been active in New Life Freewill Baptist Church and Juniper Chapel. She loved flowers and was able to work in her yard until the day before she passed away. She had also been an avid quilter most of her life. In addition to her parents, she was proceded in death by her husband Thurman Currington; daughters Irma Jean Stringfellow and Betty Stringfellow; brothers William Wesley Teat and Sam Teat; and sisters Beauty Carden and Ruby O'Hearn. Mrs. Currington is survived by two sons: Charles William Stringfellow and wife Judy of Columbus, GA; and Robert Franklin Stringfellow and wife Dottie of Americus, GA; five grandchildren: Ursula Stringfellow Johnson of Hawkinsville, GA, Patrick W Stringfellow and wife Teresa of Clinton, UT, Shelley Dawn Stringfellow Wells and husband Ben of Warner Robins, GA, Robbie STringfellow and wife Tina of Americus, and Ashley Stringfellow Blakenship and husband Marty of Americus; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; numerous step-children, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and numerous neices and nephews.
