Ellwood "Dagwood" Daniel April 12, 2008 MAUK, GA— Ellwood "Dagwood" Daniel, 81, 
of the Five Points Community died Saturday, April 12, 2008 at St. Francis 
Hospital in Columbus. A graveside funeral service will be held Monday, April 
14, 2008 at 2 PM at Five Points Church Cemetery with Rev. Brian Fuller 
officiating. Special music will be provided by  great grand son,Silas Fuller. 
Mr. Daniel was born in Marion County, GA to David K. and Mattie Lula Foster 
Daniel. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, J.B. 
Daniel, John Daniel and Bob Daniel and by sisters Geraldine Grier, Odessa 
Anthony and Faye Daniel. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a 
member of Springhill Freewill Baptist Church. He served honorably in the U.S. 
Army during World War II and was a farmer. Dagwood was known as the "Mayor of 
Five Points" and as the produce man. He enjoyed spending time with family and 
friends and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors 
include his wife of 54 years, Frances Welch Daniel; sons, Pete and Diane Daniel 
of Buena Vista and Joseph "Stuckey" Daniel of Mauk; daughters, Diane and Tom 
Wyrick, Nancy and Greg Smith, all of Mauk, Jane and Charles Bentley of Buena 
Vista and Doris Daniel of Mauk; and a sister, Louise Wyrick of Midland, GA. He 
is also survived by three grandchildren, April Fuller and husband Brian, Todd 
Wyrick and Jenni and Rick Bentley; two great grandchildren, Silas Fuller and 
Clara Fuller; and by a host of relatives and friends. 
Tante Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
