Box 382 Buena Vista, GA 31803 Phone (229)649-2478 Fax (229)649-2446 Columbus, GA – Thelma Brady Davis, 84, of Columbus, died Wednesday, February 24, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus. Funeral services were held Friday, February 27, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Columbus, with Reverend Don Wilhite officiating. Burial immediately followed the service at Shiloh-Marion Cemetery in Marion County. The family received friends at Tante Funeral Home in Buena Vista, Georgia, Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Davis was born August 1, 1924, in Marion County, Georgia, to John Michael and Hattie Ruth Mitchell Brady. She spent her early years living in Marion County and later moved to Augusta and lived there from 1975 to 1986. She had resided in Columbus for the past 22 years. She was Baptist by faith and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Columbus. She was a former member of Five Points Baptist Church in Marion County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Carolyn Davis Beck and by three sisters, Evelyn Rustin, Hazel Welch, and Neva Watson. She is survived by her husband, Allen F. Davis, of Columbus; by two sons, Terry Davis and wife Stacy, of Augusta and Steve Davis and wife Pam, of Columbus; by a son-in-law, Warren Beck, of Geneva, AL; and by a brother and sister-in-law, Nelson and Doris Brady of Warner Robins, GA. Seven grandchildren, Hilary Smith (Ricky), Spence Davis (Amy), Erin Davis, Marc Miller, Chaz Davis, Brannen Davis, T. D. Davis and five great-grandchildren, Trent Miller, Tanner Miller, Tennyson Smith, Moreland Smith, and Alani Davis also survive. Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 7556 Old Moon Road, Columbus, GA, 31909.
