Davis, 85, of Buena Vista, GA, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2019, at his residence. Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, October 13, 2019, at Tazewell Cemetery with Rev. David Chapman officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, October 12, 2019, from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Mr. Davis was born November 1, 1933, in Webster County, GA, to Fleming Pearson and Lula Maude Harry Davis. He served in the Army from 1952-1956, during the Korean Conflict. A mechanic all of his life, he was self-employed until his retirement. He had previously been employed as a pharmaceutical courier for Rinn’s Pharmacy. Mr. Davis loved spending time with his family as well as hunting and fishing. A favorite pastime of his was hanging out with friends at Morgan Grocery where he was proclaimed to be the “Mayor of Tazewell” by the “Bench Crew” that also frequented the establishment. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Mae Smith Davis, and by his siblings, Allan Davis, Mary Davis, Theresa Davis, Ray Davis, Max Davis, and Kenneth Davis. He is survived by his three sons, Ricky and Donna Davis, Roger and Terri Davis and Chris and Julie Davis, all of Tazewell, GA; by four grandchildren, Carly and Ben Welch, Trent Davis, Christina Davis, Matthew Montgomery; and by two great-grandchildren, Gunner Welch and Bowen Welch. He is also survived by a special nephew, Stanley Davis of Buena Vista, GA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to local veteran's organizations of your choice.
