Dr. M.R. Edwards Dead

Dr. M.R. Edwards died June 24th in the hospital in New York City, after an 
operation for bony tumor of the head and was buried Monday in Tazewell cemetery 
by the side of his wife, who had preceded him by two years, the Masons of his 
Lodge, assisted by the Lodge at Buena Vista officiating.  He was 62 years old 
and had been a resident and active practicing physician and Mason of Tazewell 
for 40 years and by untiring energy and good business judgment had acquired a 
handsome livelihood for himself and family with a neat sum for his children.  
He leaves four children with sad hearts to mourn his going and miss his 
counsel.  The children are all married and have beautiful homes which gave him 
great pleasure in his last days.

Dr. Manzie, the eldest son, is at Butler, Ga.  Dr. Murry and Julian are at 
Tazewell, and Mrs. G.W. Owen, of Columbus.  No father ever was prouder of and 
more devoted to his children.  The writer, with a full heart, can but revoke 
(envoke?) God’s love, grace and mercy on all his children, in this, their 
hearts sad bereavement.
