John Sherman English
December 13, 1954 ~ January 24, 2017
Mr. John Sherman English, 62, of Mauk, GA, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 
2017 at Columbus Hospice in Columbus, GA.

Graveside services will be held in Buena Vista Cemetery on Saturday, January 28, 
2017 at 1:00pm with Reverend Earl Thomas, Sr. officiating.  The family will 
receive friends at the funeral home at 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM, Saturday.

Mr. English was born in Bryan, OH, on December 13, 1954, to Melba Deck English. 
He attended Open Door Ministries.  He was in the United States Army and served 
during the Vietnam War. Mr. English had been employed with the City of Columbus. 
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. English loved working on 
cars and enjoyed being around people. He never met a stranger. He was preceded 
in death by a son, John Thomas “J. T.” English.

He is survived by his wife, Angela Carlene English of Mauk, GA; his mother, 
Melba English of Sylvester, GA; a son, Brandon Howard English of Mauk, GA; a 
sister, Sharon Rhodes of Sylvester, GA; and 2 grandchildren. Several nieces and 
nephews also survive.

Watson-Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, GA, is in charge of the arrangements.
