The deceased has been sick for two weeks or more and his death was expected two or three days. Mr. Edge was one of the oldest citizens of the county having passed his life here and for thirty-five years been on the farm where he died. He was about sixty years of age and during all his life was an industrious farmer and good citizen. He is survived by a widow and his only child, Mrs. W.L. Williams. The burial was at Union Saturday afternoon. The Marion County Patriot, No. 39 October 2, 1903 Page Four Glenalta Death came in our midst Friday morning and claimed as its victim our esteemed friend and neighbor, Jehu Edge, after some three weeks illness. His wife and daughter ministered to him with untiring hands, aided by friends and physicians, and Mr. Will Parker as nurse, but it all prevailed not against monster death. The time to praise is when men live, but we want to say that Mr. Edge possessed every quality that makes an honorable and upright man. The body was laid to rest Saturday in Union cemetery, Rev. Short conducting the services in a very impressive manner. The community extends sympathy to the bereaved family.
