Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cataula, Ga., with Brother Chris Davis officiating. Deacons and the Men's Sunday School Class of Emmanuel Baptist will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Macon Road Chapel. Mr. Ford was born June 14, 1949, in Marion County, to the late Alvie W. Ford and Imogene Elliott Foster. He was a U. S. Army veteran of Vietnam, and was currently the office manager with Vulcan Materials Company. He has been employed with Vulcan Materials for 40 years and was a member and Deacon of Emmanuel Baptist Church. He loved his family and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Barbara Simmons.
