Joel Lynn Fussell October 15, 1968 ~ February 1, 2021 (age 52) Obituary Rev. Joel Lynn Fussell, 52, of Columbus, GA passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Piedmont Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, GA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Bugh, Rev. Cliff Hendrix, Rev. James Pridgen, Rev. Jack Wallace, and Rev. Ronald Ryan officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends at the church one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00AM. Due to Covid-19, face coverings are strongly encouraged and please practice social distancing. Rev. Fussell was born in Dawson, GA, on October 15, 1968, to Joe T. and Sarah Eubanks Fussell. He was an ordained minister through the Pentecostal Church of God. Rev. Fussell had been a pastor for 20 years, serving 13 of those years as a youth pastor before moving in to full time ministry. Most recently, he was serving as the Pastor for the Pentecostal Tabernacle of Praise in Columbus, GA. He was very involved in his community serving as a Scout Master for Troop 101 and being a volunteer fire fighter for Sumter and Webster counties. Rev. Fussell was very involved in the mission field having taken two trips to Guatemala and also to Kentucky and West Virginia with the Appalachian ministry. He also worked with the Gate House rehab facility for a year. A 1987 graduate of Tri-County High School, he was in the marching band. He was a people person and there wasn’t a friend he didn’t meet. Survivors include his wife, Cindy Fussell; a son, Lance Fussell both of Columbus, GA; his parents, Joe and Sarah Fussell of Preston, GA; a brother and sister-in-law, Shane and Crystal Fussell of Durby, KS; nieces and nephews, Trent Fussell, Nolin Fussell, Christian Bain, Sophia Bain, and Candace Burleson.
