MARCH 21, 1980 ~ OCTOBER 14, 2019 (AGE 39)

Mr. Richard James Gibbs, 39, of Mauk, GA, passed away on Monday, October 14, 
2019. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, October 18, 2019, at 
Oakland Church of God with Rev. Michael Toomey officiating. Burial will follow 
the service in Oakland Church of God Cemetery. The family will greet friends 
at the funeral home on Thursday, October 17, 2019, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

Mr. Gibbs was born March 21, 1980, in Wilmington, NJ, to Robert Richard and 
Mary Frances Pearson Gibbs. He was a member of Oakland Church of God. Mr. 
Gibbs enjoyed being around people, especially children. He was always 
available to help anyone in need. Mr. Gibbs loved skating and was on a Junior 
Olympic team.

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Gibbs, of Mauk, GA; his parents, Robert 
and Mary Gibbs of Mauk, GA; a son, Richard James Gibbs, II, of Tampa, FL; a 
daughter, Taylor Mahone of Phenix City, AL; a step-daughter, Allie Edmondson 
of Phenix City, AL; a sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Michael Wimberly of 
Columbus, GA; and two grandchildren, Kannon and Easton of Phenix City, AL.

Watson-Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia is in charge of 
arrangements.
