Box 382 Buena Vista, GA 31803 Phone (229)649-2478 Fax (229)649-2446 Box Springs, GA – Bruce M. Goodman, 62, of Box Springs, died Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Vista Care, Franciscan Woods in Columbus. A Graveside Funeral Service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2009, at the Riverdale Cemetery Pavillion in Columbus with Jerry Chandler officiating. The family received friends at Tante Funeral Home in Buena Vista, GA on Sunday afternoon. Mr. Goodman was born March 7, 1946, in Muscogee County to Eddie W. and Lois Haisten Connell. He was raised by Charles D. Goodman, who gave him his last name. Coming from Harris County, he had lived in Box Springs for the past 10 years. Baptist by faith, he was a close and loving family man. He loved his wife, his children, and his grandchildren. He was an Industrial Electrician and was employed at Owens Corning in Phenix City, AL. He was known in the CB world as “Mountain Man.” He was preceded in death by his birth father, by his mother Lois H. Fowler and by his step-father. He is survived by his wife, Gail Goodman; by two sons, Bruce M. Goodman, Jr. and Olan “Richie” Goodman (Sandra); by a daughter, Kelli N. Brown ( Andy) all of Box Springs; by two brothers, Eddie W. Goodman, of Columbus, GA, and Charles Goodman, of South Carolina; by a sister, Deborah Black, of Deltona, FL; by eight grandchildren, Hannah Goodman, Cody Murphy, Abby Smith, Jared Blackwell, Nikki Brown, Andrea Brown, Elizabeth Brown, and Megan Brown; by one great-grandchild, Edward Cole Mahan, born on what would have been his 63rd birthday; and by his stepmother, Bonnie Goodman, of Deltona. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista was in charge of arrangements. Flowers are accepted or a memorial donation may be made to a charity of choice.
