Box 382 Buena Vista, GA 31803 Phone (229)649-2478 Fax (229)649-2446 Mr. Charles “Chuck” Goodwin, 84, died peacefully in his sleep at the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville, GA, on Thursday, April 21, 2011. He will be buried at sea according to Navy Tradition. Mr. Goodwin was born May 30, 1926, in Franklin, IN, to Elmer & Gladys Mullikan Goodwin. He served honorably in the Navy for 25 years as a SEABEE. Chuck Goodwin was a good husband, father and friend and always helped anyone in need. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Annah Mae Weed Goodwin, by a brother, Leland Goodwin, and by a sister, Mary Carroll. He is survived by a son, Jeff Goodwin of TN, by three daughters, Janie Grider, and Julie and Jim Wiehe all of Cusseta, GA, and Joni and David Mercer of Bryant, AR, by a brother, William and Betty Sue Goodwin of IN, and by three sisters, Helen and John Cheek of FL, Verna and Ed Goff and Wilma Jean Smith, all of IN. Four grandchildren, Jarred Wiehe, Zach Wiehe, Cody Goodwin, and Joseph Goodwin and many nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to the Veteran’s Benefit Fund, Georgia War Veterans Home, 2249 Vinson Highway, Milledgeville, GA, 31061.
