Sallie Ruth Weed Greer, 98, of Box Springs, died peacefully at her daughter’s 
residence on Friday, November 6, 2009.

Graveside funeral services were held on Monday, November 9, 2009, at 11:00AM 
at Mt. Paron Primitive Baptish Church Cemetery with Elder Billy Sizemore 
officiating. Burial immediately followed. The family received friends at Tante 
Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon, November 8, 2009, from 4:00-5:00PM.

Mrs. Greer was born December 12, 1910, in Chattahoochee County, GA, to John 
Wilbur and Sara Elizabeth Melton Weed. Baptist by faith, she was a homemaker 
and had lived in Box Springs her entire life. In addition to her parents, she 
was preceded in death by her husband, Louie P. Greer.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann Chalkley and Sue & James Covington, 
all of Buena Vista; a sister, Molly Greer of Columbus, GA; two grandchildren, 
Kenneth Covington and wife Angela, and Carol Elliott; and three great 
grandchildren, Christopher Covington, Vicki Covington, and Caitlyn Elliott, 
all of Buena Vista. 

Tante Funeral Home of Buena Vista, Georgia was in charge of arrangements.
